David Simcock always had a lot of faith in NIGEL NOTT and would have been
disappointed to see him leave his yard. Mick Appleby was the man who picked him
up and he would have been encouraged to see him run well last time out on
stable debut. It was the ideal building block and would have blown away any
cobwebs. He boasts a progressive profile and the jockey booking of William
Buick really catches the eye so I’m hopeful he can get his head in front today.
I
was bitterly disappointed with DREAMWEAVER
last time out at Haydock when beaten at short odds but I hope he can reward
my faith today. He set the race up last time for a fast finishing improver and
it was a messy race with only a few runners so he should be more at home in a
slightly bigger field today. A low draw will help Oisin Murphy bag a handy
position and despite a big weight I anticipate a bold showing.
I’m
taking a chance on EXCELLENT TEAM at
Newton Abbot as he has dropped to a dangerous mark. Previously a winner off
102, he runs off 96 tonight and if he can recapture some of his old zest I
think he could be a player in an open enough race.
